Laundry Drop — Terms of Service

The Laundry Coin LLC

Version 9.4 · Effective 8 September 2026 · Supersedes v9.3, v9.2, v9.1, v9.0 and v8.0

Laundry Drop is the pickup-and-delivery service of The Laundry Coin LLC, a locally owned laundromat in Cottage Grove, Oregon. These terms are the complete agreement between you and us for that service.

The terms in effect on the day you pay are the terms that apply to your order or your paid term.

1. Which plan you have

Laundry Drop has two plans. Which one applies to you depends on where you live.

Price$595 for the term$2.50 per pound

Sections 2–5 apply to the Subscription only. Sections 6–9 apply to Local only. Sections 10–22 apply to both.

Wash and fold you bring into the shop yourself is not Laundry Drop. It is governed by The Laundry Coin's Wash & Fold Service Policy, which is a separate document.

Part A — Laundry Drop Subscription

2. What you're buying

Term Subscription$595 — 10 weekly washes, October 4 – December 10, 2026
Returning subscriber$575 for Winter and Spring renewal
BagsTwo included, yours to keep
PaymentCharged in full at signup, one transaction

The subscription is a schedule, not laundry on demand. Unused cycles do not roll over, bank, or extend past the term.

Your subscription is personal to you and is not transferable. It cannot be sold, assigned, gifted, shared, or handed off to another student, roommate, or incoming tenant. The account holder named at signup is the only person who may use the service.

Mid-term joins are $59.50 per remaining cycle, two-cycle minimum, bags included, paid in full.

Early start. If you're at your service-area address before the term begins, you can start early for $59.50 per week ahead of the October 4 first pickup. You choose your start date at signup from the dates we're running, and your bags arrive before your first pickup. Early weeks are additional to the ten-cycle term, not a substitute for any part of it, and are paid in the same single transaction at signup.

One bag, one price. There is no weight limit on your subscription bag and no per-pound charge. Fill it as full as you like. The price is the same every week. The only limit is the bag itself — if something doesn't fit, send it as an extra load under Section 5.

What "fits" means. Your bag fits when it closes with its drawstring drawn shut. That is the capacity you have paid for, and it is the only measure we use — we do not weigh your subscription bag and there is no number to hit.

If your bag won't close. We still collect it. At the shop we remove enough for the bag to close, weigh what we removed, and bill it as an extra load under Section 5 — $2.00 per pound. We text you the weight and the charge before we charge anything. If you'd rather we didn't, say no and it comes back to you unwashed at no charge with your next delivery.

3. Schedule

Pickup: Sundays, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Delivery: Thursdays, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Your bag comes back on the Thursday after the Sunday it went out. Full term dates are published in advance.

Thanksgiving. Cycle 8 delivery moves to Wednesday, November 25, and cycle 9 pickup moves to Sunday, November 29, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM so you can set your bag out after you get back. The term does not pause for Thanksgiving; that week is included.

Finals week. Cycle 10 delivers on the normal day, Thursday, December 10.

Midweek Service (if purchased, Section 5) runs the opposite direction: we collect your second bag Thursday evening and return it Sunday morning, same windows, same spot. Nine washes in Fall, October 8 – December 3.

4. Pickups, deliveries, and how we handle your bag

Your pickup preference. At signup you choose how you want your bag collected, and we follow that choice every week:

1. Leave it at the door. Set your bag out by 10:00 AM. We text you a photo when we collect it and another when we deliver it.

2. Hand it to the driver. Meet us at your door during the pickup window.

3. Knock first. We knock and wait; if you're out, we take the bag from your spot.

You can change your preference by texting or emailing us before your next pickup. If you've asked us to knock, we knock.

If your bag isn't out during the pickup window, we can't pick it up. No credit, no refund, no make-good, and no redelivery fee. Your next pickup is the following Sunday. If you've chosen hand-to-driver and you're not there during the window, that's a missed pickup on the same terms — please set the bag out the night before or choose one of the other two options.

Bags at a shared pickup point. If your address uses a house or complex pickup spot, items left there are at your risk until we check them in. We are not responsible for a bag that is taken, moved, or damaged before we collect it.

Deliveries when you're not home. We leave your bag at your designated spot, photograph it, and text you the photo. That photo is your delivery confirmation, and by subscribing you consent to it. If you have asked for hand delivery only, we attempt once during the window; if you're not there, the bag returns to the shop and comes back on your next delivery.

5. Add-ons

Nothing in this section is charged unless you ask for it or approve it.

Midweek Service$350 at signup — nine washes, October 8 – December 3, using the same two bags. Added after the term starts, $50 per remaining wash
Extra loads$2.00 per pound. For bedding or anything you want kept separate. Put it in your own bag or a garbage bag and set it out with your regular bag. We weigh it at intake, text you the weight and the charge, and it comes back with your next delivery
Break Weeks$70 each, or $199 for the winter block
Replacement bags$15, delivered with your next pickup

Break weeks. The term covers the ten weeks the university is in session. If you're staying at your service-area address over a break, add the weeks you want at signup — one pickup, one delivery, same bag, same spot, same windows.

Winter break weekPickupDelivery
1Sunday, Dec 13Thursday, Dec 17
2Sunday, Dec 20Wednesday, Dec 23
3Sunday, Dec 27Wednesday, Dec 30

Two deliveries move to Wednesday so nobody is waiting on us over Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve.

Add-ons are charged to your card on file after we tell you the amount.

Part B — Laundry Drop Local

6. What you're buying

Price$2.50 per pound. Pickup and delivery included
Delivery feeNone
Minimum billable weight20 pounds
Starter bag, first order$12, required
Replacement bag$12
PaymentPer order, after we weigh it and tell you the total
Liability cap$150 per item, $250 per order

The starter bag. For hygiene, tracking, and safe transport, first-time Local customers purchase a reusable bag on their first order. Keep it and reuse it — we wash the bag each time and return your clean items in a liner inside the same bag. If a later order is not set out in the bag, a new bag is issued at $12.

The minimum. Orders under 20 pounds are billed at the 20 pound minimum. We tell you this at booking, not after.

Bulky and specialty items — comforters, blankets, pillows, rugs, sleeping bags and similar — are priced per piece rather than by weight, on the same list the shop uses. For anything not on the list we quote you a price before washing.

Rush service is not offered on Laundry Drop Local at any price. Rush is available in the shop for laundry you bring in yourself.

7. Schedule and service days

DayArea
MondayCottage Grove — collected
WednesdayCottage Grove — delivered
TuesdayCreswell — collected
FridayCreswell — delivered

We run a swap. On your route day we deliver your finished laundry and collect your next load at the same stop.

Cottage Grove: out Monday, back Wednesday. Creswell: out Tuesday, back Friday.

Booking cutoff is 6:00 PM the day before your route day.

Standing and one-off customers. Standing customers are scheduled automatically on the same day every week and do not rebook. One-off customers book each order by the cutoff.

If your route day is full, we will tell you when you book and offer you the next available date.

Holidays. Where a route day falls on a holiday, we publish the change in advance.

8. Pickups, deliveries, and how we handle your laundry

Set your bag out by 8:00 AM on your route day. If it isn't out when we reach your stop, we can't collect it. There is no charge, no make-good run, and your next collection is your following route day.

Deliveries when you're not home. We leave your laundry at your designated spot, photograph it, and text you the photo. That photo is your delivery confirmation, and you authorize doorstep delivery at booking. If you decline doorstep delivery you must be present during the window; if you are not, the order returns to the shop and is held for locker pickup at the published code procedure.

If we cannot deliver an order and cannot reach you for 14 days, the contents may be donated.

9. Weighing and payment

Your laundry is weighed at the shop, never at your door.

1. Your card is captured at booking, with card-on-file authorization.

2. We weigh your laundry at the shop and tare the container.

3. We text you the weight, a photo of the scale, and the total.

4. Then we charge your card.

We never charge before telling you the amount. Weight is rounded to the nearest half pound. Bags and hangers are excluded from weight.

If a card declines, we work it with you before the order goes back out.

Care preferences. One-off customers state their preferences at booking, and those preferences apply to that order. Standing customers have a stored preference profile; before each route day we text it back to you and invite changes by the cutoff. No reply means the stored profile stands.

Part C — Both plans

10. Before you send it — your responsibilities

Special care and high-value items. We do not launder delicate, high-value, or sentimental items — heirlooms, formalwear, wedding dresses, designer pieces. Don't send them. If they are in the bag, we are not responsible for them.

Shrink-risk items. Do not include garments at risk of shrinking, such as wool sweaters. We are not responsible for shrinkage or damage to items that shouldn't have been sent.

Pockets and accessories. Check every pocket. Remove money, pens, phones, earbuds, keys, jewelry, and anything else loose. We are not responsible for items left in pockets, or for damage caused by them to your clothing or anyone else's.

Sorting. We do not sort. Everything in a bag washes together. If something needs to be kept separate, sort it yourself — Subscription customers send it as an extra load, Local customers send it in a separate container.

Stains and pre-treatment. We do not pre-treat and we do not guarantee stain removal. Spot-treat before your laundry goes out.

11. What we can't wash

Anything we can't wash comes back unwashed at no charge, and we text you a photo.

Refusals. We may refuse any item presenting a health, safety, or equipment risk — mold or mildew, suspected bedbugs, strong chemical or fuel odor, solvent contamination, bodily fluids, or anything too large or heavy for our machines.

Foreign objects. We may remove and dispose of objects that pose a risk to people or machines, such as leaking batteries, solvents, or sharps. We photograph before disposal. Loss of or damage to such objects is not our responsibility.

12. Heavy soil surcharge — $20, and only with your approval first

Heavily soiled laundry is not refused. If the contents are heavily soiled — mud, paint, grease, strong odor, excessive pet hair — such that they need more than one wash cycle to come clean, a $20 surcharge applies for that load, for that cycle.

We never apply it silently.

1. We photograph the contents and text you before washing anything, with the $20 surcharge stated.

2. If you approve, we wash and the $20 is charged to your card on file.

3. If you decline, or we don't hear back by the deadline, we do not wash those items. They come back unwashed at your next delivery, at no charge.

Your pickupWe text byYour deadline
Subscription — SundayTuesday morningNoon Tuesday
Subscription — Midweek, ThursdayFriday morningNoon Friday
Local — Cottage Grove, MondayTuesday morningNoon Tuesday
Local — Creswell, TuesdayWednesday morningNoon Wednesday

No reply means no wash and no charge. The surcharge applies no more than once per load per cycle, no matter how many extra cycles it takes.

13. How we wash

Default care. Unless you've told us otherwise in writing, items are washed in warm water and dried on medium heat. This is the same default the shop uses for laundry you bring in yourself.

We don't sort. Everything in a bag washes together.

Colorfastness. We do not test for colorfastness and are not responsible for dye transfer from items that bleed.

Pre-existing condition. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, weak seams, loose trim, missing buttons, or manufacturer defects revealed during cleaning.

14. Detergents, softeners, and sensitivities

Fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, and eco-friendly detergents are available on request, along with your choice of softener or none. Subscription preferences are collected at signup and apply for the term. Local preferences are handled under Section 9.

Our machines are shared. We cannot guarantee against cross-contamination.

If you have an allergy or sensitivity, you must disclose it in the Allergies and Sensitivities field on the signup or booking form. That field is the only place we look, and what you enter there is what reaches the person washing your laundry. We are not liable for reactions, and we cannot accommodate a sensitivity that was never disclosed there.

15. Whose laundry is in the bag

The account holder is responsible for everything in the bag, including items belonging to roommates, housemates, or guests, and is bound by Section 10 for all of it. We deal only with the account holder on claims, charges, and schedule changes, and we cannot adjudicate ownership disputes between people sharing a bag.

The bag is for your own laundry, not a service you run for other people. A roommate's shirt in your bag is not a problem and never will be. Collecting laundry from people who are not part of your household, splitting one subscription across a house or floor, or offering the service to others in any form is not what you have bought — it is a use of the subscription outside Section 2, and it is grounds for suspension or termination under Section 18.

16. Quality, damage, loss, and claims

Claims window. Report any problem — a mix-up, a missing item, damage, or a quality issue — within 48 hours of delivery. Claims made after 48 hours cannot be investigated reliably and will not be honored.

Rewash — Laundry Drop Local only. If the quality is not satisfactory, tell us within 24 hours of delivery and we will rewash the order once at no charge. Items must be unworn and unused. The rewash goes out on your next route day. This matches the rewash offered on laundry brought into the shop.

There is no rewash on the Subscription. A subscription bag is a week of mixed laundry rather than a single order, and a rewash of the whole bag is not a remedy either side wants. Subscription problems are handled under the claims window above.

Liability cap. Our maximum liability for loss or damage is the lesser of the item's actual cash value or:

PlanCap
Laundry Drop Subscription$125 per item and $250 per bag
Laundry Drop Local$150 per item and $250 per order

These caps apply regardless of original purchase price or sentimental value.

We are not liable for:

Please don't send irreplaceable, heirloom, or high-value items through Laundry Drop. The service is priced for everyday laundry and insured accordingly.

17. Payment and card on file

A card on file is required, and you authorize it separately. By checking the card-on-file authorization you allow The Laundry Coin LLC to charge that stored card for the amounts described in these terms. We tell you the amount before we charge it, every time, and we charge only for things you have asked for or approved.

Subscription: the term is paid in full at signup, in a single transaction. No installments, no payment plans, no partial-term billing. Your price is locked for your paid term.

Local: each order is charged after we weigh it and text you the total.

18. Cancellation

If we cancel. If we cancel or end either plan for our own reasons — we stop running it, we can no longer serve your address, or we simply choose to — you are refunded in full for everything you have not used. No fee applies. Refunds are issued to the original card within 5 business days. Service ended because of misuse is different, and is covered at the end of this section.

If you cancel — Subscription. You can cancel any time through cycle 8. Cancellation must be in writing and takes effect after the current cycle completes.

With fewer than two cycles left, the term simply runs out. Refunds are issued to the original card within 5 business days of the request.

No transfers. The subscription is personal to the account holder and cannot be transferred, assigned, sold, or given to another person for any reason, including moving away, studying abroad, or withdrawing from school. Cancellation under this section is the only exit.

If you cancel — Local. There is no commitment and no cancellation fee. Standing customers may pause or stop with one route day's notice, matching the booking cutoff. Your bag is yours to keep.

Either plan — suspension and termination for misuse. We reserve the right to suspend service, end service, or decline to serve you again, for any of the following:

1. Using the service outside Sections 2 and 15 — sharing, pooling, splitting, reselling, transferring, or laundering for people who are not part of your household.

2. Repeatedly setting out a Subscription bag that will not close with its drawstring, after we have raised it with you once.

3. Repeatedly sending items we cannot wash or must refuse under Section 11.

4. Abusive, threatening, or harassing conduct toward our employees.

5. A pickup or delivery location we determine is not safe for our employees to reach.

6. Non-payment, a declined card left unresolved, or disputing charges we told you about in advance under Section 17.

7. Damage to or misuse of our bags, lockers, or equipment, or use of the service for any unlawful purpose.

We tell you first where we reasonably can. For items 2, 3, 5 and 6 we raise it with you and give you a chance to put it right before we end anything. For items 1, 4 and 7 we may end service immediately.

How you are refunded — Subscription. Ending service under this section is treated as a cancellation, and the customer-cancellation figures above apply:

Anything you already owe us is deducted first. Refunds are issued to the original card within 5 business days. With fewer than two cycles left, the term simply runs out and there is nothing to refund.

How you are refunded — Local. Nothing is prepaid, so there is nothing to refund and no fee applies. Any completed order still unpaid remains payable. Your bag is yours to keep.

Renewal. Renewal is offered at our discretion. We may decline to renew any subscription for a future term without cause.

19. Service areas and moving

PlanService area
SubscriptionWithin a 1.5 mile radius of the University of Oregon campus, measured from 1585 E 13th Avenue, Eugene, Oregon
LocalCottage Grove and Creswell city limits

The Subscription service area is a radius, not a city. Being in Eugene is not enough — your pickup address must be inside the 1.5 mile radius above. Addresses in Springfield are outside it.

We confirm your address is inside the service area at signup or booking, and we only serve addresses inside it. If you are not sure, send us the address before you pay and we will tell you. An address outside a service area is welcome to use the shop.

If you move during a Subscription term, notify us in writing at least 7 days before your next pickup with the full new address, including building and unit, plus access notes. We assess it against the service area and confirm in writing.

If you move without telling us, we run your scheduled stop at the address on file. A pickup we cannot make because you weren't there is a missed pickup under Section 4 — no credit, no make-good.

20. Communications, photos, and privacy

By using either plan you consent to receive texts and emails about pickups, deliveries, schedule changes, billing, and service issues. A working mobile number is required. Standard message rates apply.

Parent or guardian contact — Subscription only. A parent or guardian name, phone number, and email are required at signup. We contact them only if we cannot reach you about your service, your bag, or a charge.

Photos are used for delivery confirmation, quality control, and claims resolution only. We do not use customer images or customer laundry in marketing without explicit written permission.

21. Force majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our control — severe weather, road closures, utility outages, water or gas interruption, equipment failure, or public emergency. We will notify you and restore service as soon as we reasonably can.

22. Changes, governing law, and contact

Changes. The terms in effect on the day you pay govern your paid term or your order. We may update these terms; the current version is posted at drop.thelaundrycoin.com.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon. Any dispute will be brought in state or federal court sitting in Lane County, Oregon.
